Stakeholder Consultation – PCAS Rehabilitation Plan Review 2026

As part of BnM’s ongoing rehabilitation programme, and in accordance with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) licence requirements, BnM is currently undertaking a review of rehabilitation plans and outcomes for rehabilitation activities commenced in 2023.
We welcome feedback from stakeholders, local communities, and interested parties on the progress and outcomes of these rehabilitation measures.

Uisce Eireann Site Visit

Bord na Móna were very happy recently to be able to accommodate Uisce Eireann on a visit to Ummeras Bog, where the group considered possible water quality benefits from rehabilitated peatlands and the impact rehabilitation may have on raw water quality intake at the nearby Srowland Water Treatment Plant which is operated by Veolia. Uisce Eireann’s Integrated Catchment Management Team has been engaging with Bord na Mona to understand how bog rehabilitation can lead to water quality improvements in their source waters. Coltsfoot growing at Boora
Coltsfoot growing at Boora in early March. This member of the Daisy family appears in late winter/early spring. It is distinctive in that the flowering spike appears before the leaves.
This is a commonly recorded species on revegetating bog on residual shallow peat and exposed gravel.
